Valentine’s Day is not just about flowers and chocolates. It’s about spending time with someone you care about. This year for 2019, trade your overpriced roses for a day full of surprises for your significant other. Does your girlfriend or boyfriend enjoy music? Take them to the Martin guitar factory tour to enrich in the making of the legendary guitars. Are they more of the outdoorsy and athletic type? Surprise them and take them to Mt. Tammany for a breathtaking view that both of you can share. No matter what your significant other likes, try something new this Valentine’s Day and explore the beautiful and fun state of Pennsylvania.

Are the movies, mini golfing and bowling getting old? Here are 10 unique places to take your significant other or even your best friend for a great time.

1. Mt. Tammany- Kittatinnies Region, Hardwick Township

Cost: Free

If you are feeling adventurous and love the outdoors, Mt. Tammany may be for you. Right on the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the trail will take you to numerous cliffs for a beautiful view. You may even see eagles soaring above the Delaware River. The trail is 3.5 miles long and can be steep at some points. A tip for anyone that wants to take this journey is to go up red dot trail and down the blue. If you have never hiked before I suggest going up and down the blue trail, but you will not get the best views. Along with this trail is a small waterfall along the Dunnfield Creek. You will pass this if you do the whole loop.

2. The Cook and His Books- 20 Donaldson Street, Doylestown, PA 18901

Cost: Get the Groupon and it will only cost $65 for both of you ($32.50 each)

A little less than an hour from Cabrini is chef Michael Kanter. He will teach you how to plan and organize meals while receiving his insights and opinions about food. The Groupon is for a four-course cooking class. This class is around three hours long and by the end of it, you and your partner/friend will be full. Feel free to adventure Doylestown while you are there. It is a great area to walk around and explore the town. Want to add a quick shopping spree? Go to Something Else for women’s clothes which is only a short walk from the cooking class.

Kayak down the Schuylkill River and enjoy the nature and the view at Port Providence paddle. Before kayaking have breakfast at Nudy’s Bridge Street Café and enjoy the amazing menu they have to offer. Only 20 minutes from Cabrini.
