The Cabrini women’s softball team traveled to Dover, De. to take on Wesley College on Monday, April 8. The team played a doubleheader and fell short in both games. The losses by scores of 10-9 and 12-4 now brings the Cavaliers to 9-12.

It is clear that the early season matchups against difficult opponents like Rowan University, University of Scranton and Ursinus College are starting to pay off. The results are being seen in the win column.

"We've played really well all season and Keystone came in and gave us a really really good test tonight and our girls rose to the occasion. and were looking forward to hosting the championship on Saturday and hopefully finish strong and go into the NCAA tournament." Coach Kate Pearson

The team has added six freshmen to the team this year and is getting ready to head up to Florida for spring training. Head coach Jackie Neary is just as enthusiastic for the season as the players are.

As always, in the playoffs, it’s a whole new ball game. New attitudes, new opponents, and new drive to win the championship. That makes the Lady Cavs’ task that much harder. If they want to win their first CSAC title in four seasons, they can’t let the top-seed status change their mindset.

Jeremy Knowles led the team with 17 points, and was 5-for-5 from three-point range as the Cavs rolled past Cairn University, 99-76, on Monday, Feb. 4.

Everything is clicking at the right time for the Lady Cavs lately. It’s no surprise that with the record they have, the team is feeling confident in team dynamics.

Despite trailing for most of the game, the Lady Cavs rallied to defeat Rosemont on Monday, Jan. 21, for the second time in nine days, this time by a score of 70-66. The women’s team remains undefeated in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with a 9-0 record.
