In the upcoming weeks and months ahead S.E.a.L., Student Engagement and Leadership, and C.A.P. Board, Campus Activities and Programming,  have fantastic and interesting events to provide students with things to do on and off campus.

Some events that C.A.P. board has planned for the month of February are an open mic night on Friday, Feb. 8  in the Mansion at 9 p.m. where students can show their talents with singing, instrument playing, comedy or any other form of art they want to show off to fellow peers.

On Saturday the 9th the Black Student Union is hosting a dance party, $3 entry fee, starting from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. for any students that want to party on the weekend and show off their dance moves on the dance floor.

On Friday, Feb. 15 there will be a movie night screening “The Hate U Give” at 8 p.m. in the Widener lecture hall. Students that attend the screening will also have a discussion about the movie when finished.

On that following day, Saturday the 16, S.E.a.L. is giving students the opportunity to go to Washington D.C. and visit the African American Museum for $5.

S.E.a.L is also taking some students to a Flyers home game on Tues. February the 19th selling tickets for $15.

“I’m looking forward to attending to the movie night because the film really talks about what is going on in the world right now with police brutality,” De’Aja Gordon, sophomore psychology major, said. “I also want to attend the African American Museum because I went there before a few years ago and it was a great experience.”

In March, there will be a spring formal event in the mansion, $3 entry fee, on Friday the 15 of March. Students will be able to wear their formal attire and attend to a nice evening in the mansion.

The next day, Saturday, March 16th, S.E.a.L. has a snow-tubing trip planned.

Students will be able to go for $15 and slide down a snowy hill with a large inflated inner tube. On Saturday, March 30, there will be a bingo night where students can attend and win big prizes at 9 p.m. in Cav’s Corner.

“I am looking forward to the snow tubing trip this semester,” Alexis Goldstein, sophomore criminology and sociology major, said. “I haven’t gone in years and I think it’s fun.”

In April, C.A.P. board is having a major event called Epic Weekend that will take place Friday, April 26 through Saturday, April 27. C.A.P. board is holding back giving any information about Epic Week (besides the dates that were given) and saying that we should all look forward to that weekend because it’s going to be huge and eventful. C.A.P. board also teased Epic Weekend with a video on their Instagram.
