With the school year coming to an end, seniors are now in the swing of preparing for graduation. They have less than a month until the commencement ceremony. The senior Cavaliers made it to the end of college careers at Cabrini University.

Every class needs a valedictorian and Cabrini has made it official. Cabrini’s class of 2019’s valedictorian is Anna Russo.

Russo has been in the leadership LLC, peer tutor for the leadership LLC, student fellow in residence for the leadership LLC, ambassador in admissions, orientation leader for two years and then became orientation coordinator this past fall semester, completed the Lead strong program, interned in the office of the president, acted as overnight host, classroom coach and president of the campus activities and programming board.

Russo has done a lot for Cabrini in the four years that she has been here and everyone knows it. She is one of the most dedicated people and you can tell by everything that she has been a part of. That does not even include her academics. Most can tell she did very well in her classes to become valedictorian.

“I didn’t think I could be valedictorian but I actually had kind of made it a goal of

mine early on,” Anna Russo, senior valedictorian, said. “So I went to my first orientation leader training program and that’s when I set the goal to be orientation coordinator and when I did that I created a notes page of all the things I wanted to accomplish at Cabrini and the last one was actually being valedictorian.”

With the motivation and perseverance, Russo was able to work hard and push through obstacles to become valedictorian. Setting goals is one thing but working hard to achieve them is another. It obviously shows.

“I am really proud of Anna. I kind of saw this coming for her because I always knew she was smart enough to accomplish anything,” Danielle Perez, senior orientation coordinator with Russo, said. “Working with her as orientation coordinator was really interesting because me and Anna was were not as close as before so coming together during this experience was really awesome.”

Even if you did not know Russo for long, you could tell she was very smart and could achieve whatever she put her mind to. Family, friends, classmates, professors, mentors and bosses were a huge help for Russo to achieve goals she set for herself.
