How I started my own company while in college

October 27, 2018 was the day I decided to start my own business. The day before I was home with my roommate watching a motivational  speaker give a TED talk about starting a business and the speaker mentioned how there is no such thing as a right time to start a business.

I always wanted to have my own business, and I wanted to have a company that was based around media and music. I was listening to this brand new album that just dropped called “Cinco SZN” and reached out to the Philly rapper about working together in the future once my business was started, and he got me thinking about making this a business.

I started talking to my roommate about the steps to start a business and within the next couple days “Flex Media” was established.

Flex Media was born and a lot of work had to be done. I got the logo created, bought a domain for a website, and started to talk to people about working together. The next big step I had to make was designing my website, which took weeks to do. It was without a doubt the hardest and longest step throughout this whole process, but the website is very import to our audience. A strong website can make or break a business, especially a media business.

The goal for Flex Media is to always stay up-to-date, which is why we changed the logo just weeks after creating it. My goal is to make Flex Media the biggest media company in the world, which is a huge goal to set for ourselves and will take years to accomplish but we have high expectations that we can make it happen. There are many little goals we have set for ourselves to accomplish that big goal when it’s all said and done.

Flex Media does a lot in the media world, our main focus is on covering media where it’s needed. We also give artists, businesses and brands a way to reach different audiences with promotion through our social media platforms and our website. Our goal is to bring positive exposure to our client as well as positivity back to Flex Media.  Some of the work we do includes photoshoots, music videos, parties, video promotion, Instagram commercials and more.

It’s very hard to run a business, while being a full time student as well as playing a Division III sport in college. Time management must be mastered for you to stay on top of your game. The reason I decided to run this business during the busiest time of my life was to help myself in the future. It will only get harder and more busy, so I need to be prepared to take on this work so I can grow as a person and businessman. Throughout this business I learn how to make tough decision in a split second. Often times I have to make decisions that are not always easy and it can either positively or negatively affect the business. At the end of the day I am responsible for Flex Media’s success or failure.

A lot of people underestimate my ability and passion to make this company known all around the world. There would be no point of creating a business unless your goals are big. I have a plan and in 2019 Flex Media has a lot of things going on. From interviews, music videos, photoshoots, a YouTube show and more. We are very excited to make 2019 very memorable. We have already been getting a lot of support from artists in Philadelphia. The one thing I continue to tell people is we do not just promote or cover media for music. Flex Media focuses on upcoming trends, music and pop culture.  We cover all kinds of events like parties, concerts, anywhere a camera is needed we will be there.

On our social media platforms and website, we promote brands and businesses Flexwithusnow.com is the official website of Flex Media.
