Whether you’re on a date or with your friends for a girls’ night out, “Something Borrowed,” based on a novel by Emily Griffin, has something to offer everyone.

Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Hudson, Colin Egglesfield and John Krasinski star in this romantic comedy about two best friends in love with the same man.

Rachel (Goodwin), a lawyer, who has been in love with her study partner, Dex (Egglesfied), since law school, finds herself pushed aside when her best friend Darcy (Hudson) hooks up with him and the two eventually become engaged.

Rachel puts her feelings for Dex aside in order to let her best friend have what she wants and respect their relationship.  However, just months before the wedding, Rachel and Dex hook up making Dex second-guess his engagement to Darcy.

Dex realizes he may be marrying the wrong woman but his family pressures him to do the right thing and stay with Darcy,

Behind the scenes, Ethan (Krasinski), Rachel’s other best friend, continues to persuade Rachel to make a move on Dex before it is too late and she loses him forever.

According to Rotten Tomatoes 63 percent of audiences enjoyed the movie.  While some thought it was “inept and implausible,” others thought it was funny and “a breath of fresh air.”

Like many other movies labeled “chick flick,” “Something Borrowed” received mixed reviews from viewers.  Nevertheless it was still packed with romance, comedy and drama.
