Summer 2014 is going to be a hot one! This year’s fashion trends are all about black and white. Light tones are starting out already as early as spring and are going to work their way into the summer.

Some necessities for girls this summer include, floral print dresses, pastel sandals and don’t forget to add your pop of blue. Blue is very popular this summer. Black and white is making a comeback and a great way to make a statement with any outfit.

Some summer must haves are sunglasses, flip flops, a pastel lightweight bag, crop tops and hats are making their way around this summer as well. Rompers are still in style as we head into the warmer weather. Color blocking is always a great fashion choice.

This year its all about light layers. Wearing a light colored tank top under a lace shirt is going to be very popular this summer. Celebrities are already styling these outfits. Sperrys are the perfect shoe for a casual date paired with light colored denim shorts and a flirty light colored shirt.

Some accessories include a rose gold watch, Alex and Ani bracelets and gold stud earrings. Bright colors such as coral, pink, orange, sky blue and lavender are the perfect tones for painting nails this summer.

Braids are very in style this summer season. Celebrities have been sporting braids and jazzing them up by teasing their hair and adding a flower to give it that extra glam look.

You can’t go wrong with a maxi dress and sandals. Put your hair in a top bun and make the look more sophisticated for a fancy date night out. A casual outfit for a chilly day would include white cropped jeans paired with a layered oversize shirt for those comfy nights when you just want to hang out in front of a bonfire on the beach with friends.

The key to summer makeup is to keep it light. Always use a foundation with a built in SPF for the months of May-August. Carry chap stick with you along with lipgloss. Don’t use a bronzer unless it’s during the night, that way your natural summer glow will show during the day. Wear light eye make up during the day and add a dark pencil eyeliner to your lower lash line at night for a night out look. And don’t forget to always use a primer before applying foundation.
