The internet blew up after the release of the new Netflix movie, “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.” The movie is based off of the book written by Jenny Han, and has allowed fans to let out their hopeless romantic side.

The movie is based on a high school girl, Lara Jean Covey, who has written letters to every boy she has ever had an extreme crush on. When the letters get sent out to all of the boys, she panics at the fact that one of the boys who received a letter is her sister’s ex-boyfriend. In order to convince her sister’s ex to think that she does not love him anymore, she initiates a deal with Peter Kavinsky, another boy who received a letter, to pretend to date her so he can make his ex-girlfriend jealous, and she can confuse the other boy long enough until it blows over, but they of course end up falling in love for real.

The movie is not only loved for its characters and cast, though that is a main aspect since Peter Kavinsky is

everyone’s dream boy. Also for being able to make something so cheesy and so cliché, but so lovable.

Fans on Twitter have been especially vocal about how much they adored the movie and are already calling for a sequel, despite the movie coming out less than a month ago. Fans of the movie are also calling for Lara Jean to get her scrunchie back by any means necessary.

“Netflix does not usually have good movies, but this was definitely one of the better ones,”  Melissa Hefferan, an education major who has recently seen the movie for the first time, said.

The movie has not only increased the amount of hopeless romantics in the world, but it has also increased the sales of Yakult, a Korean yogurt drink. The movie showed Lara Jean’s little sister drinking from the distinctive bottle, and though the name of the yogurt was never mentioned, fans figured out for themselves what exactly she was drinking, and Yakult has been flying off the shelves ever since.

Overall, the response to this movie has been extremely positive toward the characters, the plot, and the cast and seems to have set somewhat of a bar for more romance movies to come. Therefore, if you are one of the few people who have not yet seen this movie, the reviews are in and they are all saying the same thing, it’s worth the watch.
