The Who’s Who award at Cabrini University is presented to students who excel in scholarship, leadership and service. Meghan Horn fit the role as she is one of this year’s recipients of this accolade. The Morrisville, Pennsylvania native has done a lot throughout her career at Cabrini.

Horn is an Exercise Science and Health Promotion major with a concentration in Sports Science. She has also taken on a minor in Religious Studies to add to her professional resume as she continues to search for her passion in life for her ultimate career.

Horn feels that she has fulfilled the requirements for this award because she is in the Honors Program, received Dean’s list from Freshman year to Senior year, been named to the CSAC All-Academic Team three times all while holding numerous leadership positions on campus and actively a volunteer.

“Busy with my constant schedule, I am constantly running around,” Horn said. “I am so honored to have been selected as a recipient of this award.”

Being accepted into Omicron Delta Kappa, Beta Beta Beta and Sigma Zeta honors societies are a continuation of the recognition that Meghan has seen over her four years. In July of 2016, she was selected as a Cabrini representative to travel to Krakow, Poland for World Youth Day with Cabrini’s own Father Carl Janicki.

“[At World Youth Day], I was most impressed with how well Meghan interacted with the other pilgrims and immediately emerged as a leader among all the people there – students and other adults,” Father Carl said.

Horn also sacrificed her spring breaks and went on multiple mission trips through Cabrini traveling the country to Appalachia, West Virginia and New Orleans.

As part of Campus Ministry, Horn holds the highest position possible for a student, serving as a Peer Minister, another form of a Leadership position. As well as Peer Minister, she has been Campus Ministry’s Liturgical Ministry Leader, SEARCH XXIII leader, SEARCH XXIV team leader and the Adventure Retreat Leader.

“Meghan has helped continue the growth of our Campus Ministry program, and has been a positive difference maker on behalf of Cabrini University,” Father Carl said.

Meghan Horn has also been an active member of the athletic community at Cabrini. She played two years on the women’s basketball team as a freshman and sophomore, where a highlight was against Cedar Crest in February of 2014 scoring 11 points in 13 minutes. She went on to play women’s soccer for her senior year where she scored three goals and had two assists on the season.

For other on campus positions she has held, she is an employee at the Dixon Center as a member of the Fitness Staff, a past Student Ambassador for Admissions as well as a peer mentor for other students on campus.

Off campus, she is an intern at the local Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the Cardiac Center as an Exercise Stress Technician. She works diligently for children who have congenital or acquired heart disease.

“The freshman in whom I saw potential, graduates as a senior who is realizing that potential in profound and meaningful ways.  I have been blessed to work with her, serve with her, and cannot wait to see and hear how she impacts the next community she engages.  Their community will be a better because of her presence and loving ways,” Father Carl said.
