How some students enjoy their mondays

Every college student knows that Monday is one of the most stressful days of the week. After two days of being able rest and relax,  students return to their normal class schedules. Students tend to be tired and stressed out and not having the energy to attend class. But, there are ways to make a Monday stress free and easy-going.

“Monday is my busiest days during the week,” Attiyah Williams, junior business major, said. “I like to start by planning my week out in my planner book. Then, I like to clean up my room because a clean environment makes me feel comfortable. Next, I like to do my homework so I’m not doing it all at the last minute. After that, I like to take a break from my work and spend some time with my friends. Then to help me release the stress, I go to the gym and workout. Next, I like to do my laundry so I can have some nice comfortable clothes to wear.  Once all my chores are done, I relax by catching up on my favorite shows like “Power”, “The Walking Dead” and “Game of Thrones”. Finally, the most important thing that helps me relieve stress is going to bed early and getting a good night’s sleep.”

Even though for most students Monday is considered the hardest day to get through, it can still be made a fun day even if you have classes.

“Over the weekend I like to get my homework done, spend time with my friends and work.” Victoria Vernon, junior secondary education and English major, said. On Mondays, after I get out of class, I like to exercise, eat good food, talk with my family members on the phone, relax in my room and get a good night’s sleep.”

Having plans after your classes can help you enjoy your Mondays even more and make your day feel fun rather than it feeling like a chore. That way it helps you feel enthusiastic and have something to look forward to when your long day of classes is done.

“I make my Monday stress free by starting off with a cup of coffee, so I am not tired when I get ready to go to class.” Dillon Staples, senior political science major at Eastern University, said. “Before I go to class I like to make sure my work is complete and in order. After my morning class, I like to read a book and eat a good lunch. After my 2 pm class, I like to play some video games and then watch some TV later on. Finally, I’ll have a snack while I talk to my girlfriend.”

Ultimately, your Monday doesn’t have to be the same old basic waking up tired, going to class tired and then going back home just to do homework. You should be able to change up your routine and try something you thought you would do on a Monday. Not even just for Monday, try something new every day that can make you want to enjoy your college life much more.
